Some stories aren’t born under bright lights or inside fashion studios — they begin quietly, far from the spotlight, in places where dreams are often dismissed. Mine started in a small town, with a big dream and a quiet rebellion in my heart.

Where Dreams Begin Quietly
Dreams don’t always begin in glamorous cities or with clear paths—sometimes, they’re born in small towns, in quiet defiance of expectations. This is the story of a girl who dared to chase her modelling dreams against all odds.
Behind every picture-perfect moment often lies a story that rarely shows the raw, relentless struggle of a dreamer who dared to chase the impossible. The dream of becoming a model or seeing oneself in the fashion industry or on a big screen is a dream that millions of us want to cherish. But it is always said that it is easier to dream than to turn those dreams into reality, especially when you come from a place where coming to the fashion industry is seen as no less than a sin.
The Road Less Paved
For aspiring models coming from small towns, the journey to the spotlight is rarely smooth. It's a road paved with hurdles, heartbreak, self-doubt, and a hunger to make it against all odds. I come from a small town and a conservative family where modelling was not seen as a very sophisticated profession for a girl, as it had no stable future.
Surrounded by narrow expectations and limited exposure, the idea of pursuing a career in the fashion industry felt like dreaming in a different language. There was no proper guidance for where to start and whom to reach out to for work—most importantly, whom to trust, because the world is not very kind to women.
But in this journey, whom I always found by my side was my mother, someone who believed in me more than I believed in myself.
Fighting Criticism with Fire
One of the hardest parts was convincing people that modelling can be a serious profession. I faced serious criticism, judgment, and constant comparison. “It’s just a phase,” they said.
But I had already tasted the fire of ambition, and there was no going back. Rejection became a regular part of life—waiting for that one confirmation call felt like years, only in vain.
Reaching out to brands for collaboration was another struggle. They would reject my profile without even looking, since I was a fresher with a not-so-significant social media presence. But the question always remains—if a brand only wants experienced models, how does a fresher ever become experienced?
A Mother’s Quiet Strength
From the beginning, my dream was met with frowns and whispers. Modelling, in my family, was often seen as inappropriate — a profession misunderstood and judged. Relatives gossiped, and neighbours warned my parents to "bring the girl back in line."
But through it all, my mother stood by my side like a quiet force. She may not have known the fashion world or how to help me become a model, but she understood dreams—especially the kind that refuse to fade. She saw the light in my eyes every time I talked about photo shoots and fashion shows.
And that was enough.
“Let her try,” my mother would say gently whenever someone questioned my choices. “If she falls, we’ll help her stand again.”
When Mirrors Reflect More Than Just Looks
I was ready to give up anytime, but that’s when the reflection in the mirror reminded me why I started.
The journey is about more than modelling. It’s about proving that where we come from doesn’t have to define where we are going. It’s about reminding people, especially those in small towns and quiet corners of the world, that everyone should dare to dream.
Presence Over Perfection
As the work continued, so did the growth. I learned how to present myself professionally and how to move in front of the camera. It wasn’t about perfection—it was about presence. It was about bringing my energy, my story, and my unique look to the table.
That’s something no city, no connection, no background could replace.
Daring to Dream Loudly
I’ve heard people say, “Don’t get your hopes high.” But I believe the opposite is true: Get them so high they light a fire under your goals.
Get them so high that they pull you forward when everything else tries to hold you back. Even some of my relatives said, “You have a good educational background—why go for something so uncertain?”
But how can I make them understand that while others talk about safe jobs and settled lives, I always imagined myself on magazine covers, walking with confidence?
A Breakthrough Moment
Restless, I saw an ad for the PC Chandra beauty pageant one day. I asked myself—how many rejections did they face to achieve what they dreamt of? That’s when I knew—I had to sign up.
Gradually, things started taking a turn for the better. I slowly started getting offers for photo shoots and brand collaborations. It was a steep slope, but one should not expect success to come overnight.
The Reality Beyond the Glamour
My modelling journey hasn’t been easy. I’m not a famous face yet. I’m not walking major runways or signed to a top agency. Most days, I’m still reaching out, still pitching myself to brands and agencies, still waiting for the right doors to open.
And truthfully, the struggle can be exhausting.
But even through the slow progress and the quiet rejection, my belief hasn’t faded. It’s grown stronger. Because this dream of mine isn’t just about fame or attention—it’s about proving that no matter where you come from, your dreams are valid.
A Promise to My Mother
What pushes me the most is the unwavering support of my mother. From the very beginning, when I didn’t even fully believe in myself—she did. She stood beside me, encouraged me, reminded me of my worth, and told me I could do this.
And now, everything I work for—every audition, every shoot, every late-night email—I do it with one goal in mind: to prove her right.
I want her to know that her love and belief weren’t misplaced. That her sacrifices and encouragement didn’t go to waste. I want her to see that her daughter took the dream and ran with it, even when the path was uphill.
Still Rising
I may still be finding my way in this industry, but I won’t stop until I get there. I believe that every dream, no matter how distant it feels, is possible if you’re willing to work for it.
And when that breakthrough moment comes, I’ll be standing tall—not just for myself, but for everyone who ever believed in me.
A Message to Fellow Dreamers
So, to anyone out there chasing something big, keep going—especially if you're still struggling. Because believing in yourself, even when the world doesn’t yet, is the first step to making your dream real enough.
The journey is far from over, but every step forward is a victory. I’ve learned that rejection isn’t the end—it’s just a redirection. Every photo shoot, every email, every moment of doubt has shaped who I’m becoming.
My story isn’t just mine—it belongs to every dreamer from a place where dreams feel distant. What keeps me going is the belief that something incredible is waiting just ahead. I still face challenges, but I’ve grown stronger, bolder, and more determined. The world may not have noticed me yet, but I’m not here to blend in—I’m here to break through.
With my mother’s love behind me, I know I’ll get there, no matter how long it takes. I’m not chasing fame. I’m chasing purpose, passion, and proof that dreams can come true. So here I stand, still reaching, still rising, and still believing.
